Ono Turtle

Giant rock said to be inhabited by a god

This gigantic monolith soars toward the sea, reaching a height of 168 meters above sea level.
It is possible to climb to the top and enjoy a 360-degree view. The stone pagoda of Zenpo-ji Temple stands at the top.

A colony of 500,000 plants and 1,000,000 tobishima kanzo (Ganoderma lucidum) grow in the area, and the yellow flowers bloom all over the area in early summer. The best time to see the flowers is from late May to early June.

Futatsugame
A five-minute drive north along the coast from Onogame is an island named Futatsugame because it looks like two turtles perched on it.

This island, covered with green grass, is called Oki no Shima or Iso no Shima, and its scenery changes with the tide.

It is used as a bathing beach, and boasts the highest transparency of seawater on Sado Island.
Futatsugame Beach has been selected as one of the 100 best beaches in Japan.
